The Patel Conservatory Dance Department offers a range of classes and workshops for the beginning and advanced dance student, both children and adults. Classes are organized by experience level, either open access or placement needed, and by age. Additional offerings appear each year, and ongoing workshops and master classes will be offered periodically.

The Patel Conservatory has partnered with the Orlando Ballet School (OBS) to bring the finest classical ballet training to the Tampa Bay area. Classes are offered during the school year for children in grades Pre-K3 through 12. No previous training or audition is required, but all students must take a placement class to determine their level of proficiency prior to registration. OBS at the Patel Conservatory offers performing opportunities, mostly scheduled in the spring, that enable students to improve technically and artistically. Students in Grades 1-12 are encouraged to continue their training over the summer months by participating in the Summer Ballet Junior Intensive (for grades 1-12) or the Orlando Ballet School Summer Intensive (for grades 8-12) held at the Patel Conservatory. The Summer Intensive (for grades 8-12) is for intermediate and advanced ballet students and requires a separate audition.

The Patel Conservatory Theater Department is divided into three divisions: on-stage, on-camera and non-performance. On-stage and on-camera acting classes culminate in presentations of class work. Classes are organized by experience level, either open access or placement needed, and by age. Specialty classes, workshops and master classes are also offered periodically.

In on-stage acting classes, students develop and refine age-appropriate acting techniques such as voice and body development, group dynamics, improvisation, stage movement, character development, concentration and script analysis. Students apply their techniques through different source of performance material for each age group, advancing from basic storytelling to classical texts.

In on-camera acting classes, students develop and build on industry-standard on-camera acting techniques that include slating, setting up the scene, hitting the mark, improvisation, performing basic and advanced commercial copy and working with doubles and groups.

Non-performance classes, such as Playwriting and Technical theater, also are offered.

The Patel Conservatory Music Department offers options for budding and advanced musicians of all ages, featuring performance classes, theory classes, school-year programs, private lessons and other specialty classes.

Performance classes, both open access and placement needed, are hands-on, weekly musical classes offered each session for students of all ages from children to adults. Rock School students learn to play an instrument while jamming with their customized Conservatory band. Jazz Ensemble is available for students in grades 8 through 12. Singers can take Voice and study a variety of vocal styles. There also are introductory music performance classes including Suzuki training for young children and their parents.

School-year programs are audition-based programs for students in grades 2 through college level, including the Patel Conservatory Youth Orchestra classes.

Students may also take private lessons with an experienced, professional musician. Private lessons include vocal as well as instrumental instruction.

For students interested in recording and producing their own music, there is Recording Studio or Hip-hop Music Creation and Production through our Media Arts Department.

The Patel Conservatory Media Arts Department is committed to offering students the latest in digital arts technology. Professional instructors and state-of-the-art video and audio recording studios allow students to experience all the steps necessary to produce original digital projects. Additionally, the instructors are committed artists who continuously develop their own projects.
