Access Arts/Financial Aid

The Patel Conservatory believes that its arts education programs should be available to everyone. That’s why we offer financial assistance to help deserving students and families participate in our high-quality, unique arts education experience.

All scholarships provide opportunities for students to discover their creative potential and develop lifelong skills. While scholarship support may be adjusted based on availability of funding, we make every effort to assist as many students as possible.

We offer financial aid in the following scholarship categories: Need-based, Merit-based and Access Arts.   Financial Aid Application deadline for Summer 2012: May 7, 2012.

Need-Based Scholarships

Financial assistance is based on the financial need of the family. Scholarships are applied to the student’s tuition, resulting in a reduced fee for classes. To apply, students must complete the Financial Assistance Questionnaire and submit the required documentation by the specified deadline during fall, spring and summer registration periods.

Merit-Based Scholarships
Merit-based scholarships are based on the demonstrated artistic ability of the student and may cover partial or full tuition. Merit-based scholarships are limited in number and require an audition, a teacher recommendation, an essay and the Financial Assistance Questionnaire.

To apply for a Need-based or Merit-based scholarship, please call the Registrar’s Office at 813.222.1002 or download the Financial Assistance Questionnaire. The questionnaire is also available in the Patel Conservatory Chairmen’s Library.

Access Arts Scholarships
Access Arts scholarships are provided to overlooked and underserved children and their families through a proactive recruiting process. The Access Arts program identifies children who have an interest in the performing arts, conducts interviews and enrolls the students in age-appropriate classes, camps and workshops — the same offerings that children not receiving assistance receive. Access Arts recipients complete the same admissions procedures and receive the same guidance as all other students.
