Placement and Registration
Patel Conservatory Youth Ballet (PCYB)
Patel Conservatory Youth Ballet (PCYB) accepts students of all levels. No prior training is required; however, all students must first take a placement class to determine their level of proficiency. A placement class allows our faculty to assess your child to determine the level that will help her or him to improve dance skills. During the placement class, faculty will lead your child through normal class work and evaluate your child’s ability to perform the skills specified by the class syllabus. Although the child’s age is considered during the placement process, the grades attached to a particular level are approximate. Most new students enter the Pre-Professional Division in the Preparatory level, as prior serious ballet training is required to be placed in Levels 1-5.
Contact the PCYB office at 813.222.1263 to set up a placement class. The PCYB faculty will make all decisions regarding placements and promotions to the next level.
Returning PCYB students will receive their placement from faculty during the summer and may register at any time.
