Dear wonderful students and parents, new and returning,
We celebrated our 7th anniversary on December 4, 2011. In just seven years, we’ve grown to serve nearly 1,300 students during the school year, and nearly 1,500 summer campers! In 2010, we launched Next Generation Ballet (NGB), a new ballet company. My own daughter has been in the ballet program for several years and recently started on pointe. As both an arts administrator and a parent, I speak with experience when I say how very proud I am of all of our students and their accomplishments at the Patel Conservatory.
Our students have the opportunity to experience master classes with working actors, receive discounts on tickets and participate in talk-backs. As part of their education in 2010, students saw a total of 15 professional shows from theater, opera, dance and music, just for being enrolled! Professional artists from many of these touring shows visited our classrooms and studios to teach and/or conduct Q & A’s with our students. Some even took our dance classes and used our studios for vocal classes. Our students worked with cast members of Dreamgirls, 9 to 5 and the Improvised Shakespeare Company, to name a few. This is the magic that happens here at the Patel Conservatory. There’s an indescribable energy within these walls that students feel when they enroll. They have access to an extensive curriculum and gain experience from our talented teachers, many of whom are professional working artists. They also receive bonus classes and free or discounted tickets to world-class shows.
